Mother’s Day with Clay pottery workshops in Wellington now open for bookings!

Have fun making pottery pieces for Mother’s day on Sunday 8 May!

Book in to treat yourself, buy a spot as a gift for someone you love, or book 2 spots and bring a friend, your mum, a child, a date, whoever you want to celebrate with!

All children under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by an adult.  Book as many spots as people coming – cost is per person.

Please choose from 2 options:

10 am to 12pm – In this handbuilding workshop you will be able to work with clay with your hands and form pottery shapes by pinching and coiling clay.  You will be able to create up to 3 mugs, bowls, or other functional or sculptural work.  No experience necessary! Limited to 10 people.

wheelthrowing workshop for ages 14+

12:30pm to 2pm OR 2pm to 3:30 pm – In this wheel throwing workshop you will have the opportunity to try throwing clay on the potter’s wheel.  You will be able to create up to 3 small pieces including cups, bowls, or other round shapes.  No experience necessary!  Limited to 6 people per session.  You must bring a towel to the wheelthrowing workshop.

details for all workshops

All materials and firing are included for each person to create up to 3 pieces of approximately 300g in each workshop.

You will have the opportunity to choose from a range of coloured glazes I make myself before you leave.

Once your pieces have dried a bit, I will trim them, bisque fire to 900 C, then glaze, and finally fire a second time to 1220C in my kiln, and they will be ready to pick up about 2 – 3 weeks later.

All you need to bring is clothes you don’t mind getting a bit muddy.

I suggest having short fingernails for the best experience.

Please note my workshop is not heated so it can get cold!

My refunds policy applies to all workshop, classes and lesson bookings.
