Pottery Lessons in Newtown, Wellington
Have you always wanted to work with clay or learn to make ceramics? Or just interested in giving pottery a go?
I offer private pottery wheel-throwing and handbuilding lessons for one or two people in a fun, relaxed environment at my home studio in Newtown, Wellington.
You can choose between a wheel-throwing lesson or a handbuilding lesson. A 2-hour lesson includes introduction to clay and working on or off the pottery wheel. You can come back for additional lessons in trimming wheel-throw pieces, adding handles or decoration, glazing, and firing in the kiln, or you can leave your pieces for me to finish and choose a glaze. Finished pieces will be available approximately 2 weeks after the lesson.
All materials and firing included.
These lessons are designed to give you a taster rather than on-going regular tuition. Lessons are available weekday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm or weekends between 10 am and 6pm.
All you need to bring are clothes you don’t mind getting a bitt muddy.
Please note my workshop is not heated so it can get cold in winter!
Prices start at $120 for a 2-hour lesson including all materials and firing for one person.
If you’d like to organise a private workshop for you and group of friends, please get in touch.
I’m also now accepting bookings for pottery Christmas parties and team building events. Get in touch if you’d like to discuss having a pottery holiday party!
I am hoping to run more Wellington boob-mug making pottery workshops in 2022. Watch this space!
